what it costs...

Unfortunately we can’t match the low cost carrier models that have proven so popular in Europe and other developed economies. In short flying is not a cheap business – especially if you want to do it right without compromising on service standards, reliability and most importantly safety.

Our fares are all calculated and quoted in Us Dollars as fees relating to our operation use US Dollars as the base currency for Jet A1 Fuel, landing and navigation fees, Aircraft Leases, insurance etc.

We are however happy to accept payments in Malawi Kwacha and have adopted the industry norm of applying the prevailing IATA Rate of Exchange, set by the national airline, when invoicing in Malawi Kwacha.

Travelers often neglect to do price comparisons before raising concerns at the cost of air travel. Consider the following scenario drawn from one of Malawi’s large corporations for management staff driving between Lilongwe and Blantyre for meetings:

Distance by Road: Lilongwe – Blantyre - Lilongwe 650km
Vehicle operating costs (fuel included when available!): K115.00/km
Vehicle Cost for Trip:  K74,750.00
Overnight accommodation (standard) : K21,000.00
SNT Allowance for one night: K6,000.00

TOTAL COST: K101,750 (APPROXIMATELY USD670.00)

And that price does not even begin to look at the value of 8 hours travel time out of the office!!
